An exhilarating experience!

Joined sis's Tern Yun Qong group for an overnight retreat.  It was an exhilarating and unforgetable experience... to say the least.
With some members of the tern yun qong group and the Grandmaster from China on the extreme right

The grandmaster standing on the abdomens of participants to improve their health!  Apparently, sis (in white slippers) survived!  Apparently she did not feel any weight when he stood on top of her abodomen!
The Grandmaster breaking bricks over their abdomens to improve their health.  Sis (second from the front), anxiously waiting to be "hammered"

I gave the Grandmaster the privilege of hammering 2 bricks on my left leg, to cure the problem of my left leg!  Well...the proof of the pudding is in the eating!  Anyway I'm a born loser, what to do?

This gentleman is strengthening his right arm.  I understand he had a real problem with both his arms and was cured after participating in tern yun qong and is now leading a small group on his own.

Swallowing chopsticks is good for health (Oh dear, what am I saying?) The grandmaster preparing the chopsticks.

Participants inserting chopsticks in theeir mouths preparing to swallow!  yeecks!  This, sis and i dared not do.

The chopsticks were swallowed! Looked so easy, mmm......

activegoldengirls

Changed back the name of this blog to 'activegoldengirls' today, on the request of friends.  They think the new name was too serious for me and the original name activegoldengirls is more appropriate as it somewhat reflects me.  Really? he..he...  So "thoughtsandreflections" lasted only 10 days!

There were always in me, two women at least, one woman desperate and bewildered, who felt she was drowning and another who would leap into a scene, as upon a stage, conceal her true emotions because they were weaknesses, helplessness, despair, and present to the world only a smile, an eagerness, curiosity, enthusiasm, interest.”

Four things a woman should know:
How to look like a girl, How to act like a lady, How to think like a man, And how to work like a dog.

Flowers in bloom

If you've never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a flower in spring bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom. ~Audra Foveo

My White Lady Anthuriums flowered again after 3 years. The last blooms were in September 2008.

PERHAPS you’d like to buy a flower?
But I could never sell. If you would like to borrow
Until the daffodil
Unties her yellow bonnet
Beneath the village door,
Until the bees, from clover rows
Their hock and sherry draw,
Why, I will lend until just then,
But not an hour more!

- Emily Dickinson (1830–86),a poet particularly taken with nature

No use being a fool about it?

My third batch of pineapple jam tarts. Mmm...looking better... but still not the taste I'm looking for.

An English proverb says, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again". But for me, the most likely scenario is "If at first you don't succeed, try again, then quit. No use being a fool about it"!

Issue solved

The issue with my Blog is solved at last. I opened the posts one by one and discovered that there is one post that caused the side bar to disappear. I resized the images of the particular post and wa..la..aa...the problem solved. Now I can go to bed.

what happened to my Blog?

I do not understand why I lost my side bar on the first page of this Blog. When I view the older posts, then the side bar becomes visible. Trying to solve this issue but so far not successful.

Batu Caves - my work-out for the week!

My niece LeeAnn who ran all the way up Batu_Caves
without stopping to catch a breath. Oh... the exuberance of youth!
Despite the limitations of age, I actually did survive the 272 steps climb! Fortunately for me and my sister, there are several landings along the way where we could catch our breath and at the same time admire the view and "socialize" with the many monkeys which came quite near the visitors.I understand those visiting Batu Caves can look forward to using a new cable car service next year instead of climbing up the 272 steps leading to the temple.
