I can look at you straight in the eyes

Received this picture (above) in the mail today...the opulance of the politically connected rich and famous.

I am currently doing some improvements to my house. Would it eventually look like that picture above? Mmm...dream on...Actually, it is now looking like this (below) and not likely to look like that... not for a thousand years! But I can look at you straight in the eyes... can they?...not in a million years !

  1. Hi Suraya,
Guess who's calling? We've settled down for 7 days now in Sydney and checking out your blog for the latest.
On opening the front page news I am quite surprised to note that your father's alma mater is also mine. Our rival schools called us names like Monkey Boys School/Money Bag Stealers and got stuck even now if your dear father can recall. I, too learnt Chinese by self-study and is good enough to finish the Chinese Classics. Like your dad, I also studied some Japanese but everything is inaccessible from the hard disk now. We could probably get along well to talk about old times in a good setting like a kopitiam and yakkity yak for many hours. As I am typing out this short mail now in Sydney, my fingers are numbed by the winter air.
Before I end, Agnes and I wish you good health and happiness and really appreciate going thru your well-presented blog. You're a true pro.
    G'day mate!
    Agnes and Jerry
