Almost all my Father's grandchildren (except Dr. Freeda in London) are coming back from far and near for his 100th birthday celebration on 24 July this Sunday.

An age of ease

Now that we're retired...

We get caught in traffic jams, but we do not care...we 're in no hurry anyway...

We linger over our lunch and enjoy our food slowly...we need more time to munch anyway...

When they say 'excuse me ...we are closing soon...we make our way to the mall ...we need the walk to digest our food anyway....
We continue the party at our friend's and roll up our hair for all we care...we do not need to impress anybody anyway...

We talk about the good old days and make plans for another fun day... O, blest retirement! friend to life's decline -

One in six children in the world engaged in child labour!

How many of us know the significance of 12 June? International Labour Organization (ILO) has declared 12 June as the World Day against Child Labour. Yet, that the day is not recognized to the extent of less meaningful days like Valentine's Day.

According to UNICEF, one in six children in the world are engaged in child labor, i.e. an estimated 158 million children. According to UNICEF, millions of children are engaged in hazardous situations or conditions, such as working in mines, working with chemicals and pesticides in agriculture or working with dangerous machinery. They are everywhere, but invisible, toiling as domestic servants in homes, laboring behind the walls of workshops, hidden from view on plantations.

The worst place in this respect is sub-Saharan Africa, in which one in three children is engaged in child labor, representing 69 million children. In South Asia, another 44 million are engaged in child labor.
